Attention all Authors, Literary Publishers and Agents

Greetings!

To All Authors in the DFW area: Mahoganybooks.com is hosting a Literary Jazz Happy Hour Phase I and Literary Jazz Brunch Phase II at a local venue here in Dallas in April and May of 2005. The date for the April event (Phase I) is Wednesday April 27, 2005 at D'Jango On The Parkway in Addison, Texas from 5pm to 8:30pm. CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO SEE ARTIST Renouned Jazz Saxaphonist - Shelley Carrol

The date for Phase II Literary Jazz Brunch will be held at Billy G's Club and Restaurant on Sunday of May 22th, from 1:oopm to 4:00pm You can choose to participate in either phase or both if you prefer. Based on the responses from authors so far, we will need 2 phases to get all of the area authors a chance to participate. The purpose of this event is to announce to the DFW area the re-grand opening of our African American Online bookstore! We are inviting all area authors to come and participate by bringing your books to sign and sell to the public. We are also inviting a very special guest to be present to promote public participation.

We will have vendor tables available to the authors at a mere charge of $25.00 per table and are asking you to click the link below to purchase your table before they are all gone. This is a small fee in comparison to the profits you will make in selling your books at this event. It is well worth the investment. We plan on having 10-15 tables, one for each author. There will be much publicity regarding this event in the weeks to come so the participation from the public is expected to be enormous.

We will also have open mic poetry and door prizes, not to mention good food, good music and spirits. You don't want to miss this great opportunity to showcase your books and listen to the sultry sounds of Red Young and Shelly Carrol at D'Jango's for the Phase I event.

It is guaranteed that life will throw apples, oranges and quite often onions. They are often referred to as "Circumstances".

Renee Jackson is on the "Circumstance" obstacle court. She desperately wants a relationship with her mother, Barbara Jean Jackson, who refuses to do right by her daughter. Renee receives the marriage proposal of a lifetime from Charlie Thatcher, but sabotages her own happiness by turning down the proposal. In walks Stuart Humphries, an Internet playboy, and Renee will have nothing to do with him, that is until she falls in love with him against her will. Love takes the two to the wedding altar.

But, what or WHO is waiting for them when they walk down the isle?

To find out, you have to read this highly anticipated novel by writer Yolanda M. Johnson.

"Circumstances" will debut the literary market January 20, 2006 at Sambuca's Jazz Cafe!

What's better than sex?

Well . . .nothing--if it's great sex. So, what's the next best thing? The MMRW!

WHEN: October 6-8, 2006

WHERE: Dallas, Texas, at the Radisson Hotel, 2330 W. Northwest Hwy. Hotel provides free shuttle from DFW Airport.

WHY: Because you love to read, you work hard, and you owe it to yourself to have a pampering weekend, discussing your favorite books, meeting authors, and having fun.

Partial payments of at least $50 are acceptable. But be aware that registration will close at 75 fully-paid registrants, or Aug. 15, 2006--whichever is sooner. If 75 fully-paid registrants are received prior to August 15, partial paid registrants will receive refunds. There will be absolutely no refunds after August 15, 2006, (except of course in the event that the retreat is cancelled), but fully-paid registrants may transfer their space to anyone of their choosing. Bounced checks will bounce the sender off the list immediately and forever.

If your initial deposit is received after 75 participants have fully paid, you will have the option of having your payment returned to you immediately, or taking a numbered place on the waiting list. On Aug. 16, all spaces not fully paid will be offered, in order, to those on the waiting list. If you accept the offer, full balance is due by August 30. If you do not accept the offer, your initial payment will be returned.

Participants must make room arrangements directly with the hotel (214-351-4477). Ask for the Evelyn Palfrey MMRW. Room rates are $89 for single, $99 for double, $119 for suites.
